RE: *N20,000 or 2 Years in Prison?* - Thank you all, Jazakumulaha Khayran.

Praise be to Allaah & We ask for Allah’s blessings on Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), his household and the generality of Muslims.

Alhamdulilaah, we just completed the bail/freedom process of our brother *Salisu Gbadamasi* from Tunga Medium Prison, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.

Also, we ensured post-release direction by having an extensive discussion with Mr. Salisu after his freedom (Video here: https://www.facebook.com/lawal.arishekola/videos/1778220478884733/). Afterwards, we visited his house together.

Don’t let us forget the case of the second brother in the same shoe with Mr. Salisu as included in our first BC, we visited the court on his case today and part of the requirement for his release is the bail and others, see this for reminder: “*Musa Muhammad*narrated to us what led him to the prison, he said he went to greet his friend and police came to arrest him (his friend) for theft, but unfortunately they met him there and arrested them together, he was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison or #20,000 fine.”

Dear Brethren in faith, let's help our brothers to complete the bail condition for the second person as Allah has completed the first one through you.

N20,000 or 2 Years in Prison?

Assalam Alaykum,

Ummah Care For The Inmates Foundation (UCIF) requests for your help, after our Jum'ah prayer and teaching of Kitaabu Tawheed class at TUNGA PRISON, Niger State yesterday, our representatives stepped out to return home, and two inmates ran to us made tasleem on seeing their faces they were people we knew very well in our area they asked for our help for freedom, we called them to the chief warder's office for more discussion, on getting there we were granted permission to interrogate them in the presence of chief warder.

1. *Musa Muhammad*narrated to us what led him to the prison, he said he went to greet his friend and police came to arrest him (his friend) for theft, but unfortunately they met him there and arrested them together, he was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison or #20,000 fine.
This morning we went to visit his father as to confirm if he was aware of his son's case, the father responded in affirmative and explain more that he has no way to raise the #20,000 fine as things is very difficult for him even to feed his family is not easy.

The second inmates *Gbadamasi Saliu* (a teacher at Madrasa) narrated what led him to prison, he said someone stole a phone and he witnessed that he saw the phone with him, before he could say more already in court and sentenced him together with the thief to two years in prison or #20,000 fine the main guy that stole the phone his family quickly raised the 20k and freed him in the court but the mallam that bear witness could not raise the 20k and serving in prison right now.
Dear Brethren in faith, let's help our brothers to secure their bail condition, N20,000 each for the two cases.

UCFI NIGER STATE CELEBRATES EID WITH INMATES OF TUNGA PRISON.

Ummah Care For The Inmates Foundation, Niger State chapter celebrated Eid-el-Fitr with inmates in Tunga Medium Prison.

With your financial donations and volunteering efforts, the inmates got a lovely share of brotherly love, care, affection and Islamic bond as UCFTI members visited the prison yesterday with cooked foods and other items to feed the Inmates and made the over 350 inmates had a wonderful Eid celebration. Admonition was delivered as well, to assist the spirituality of the inmates.

We could not make it to pray Salatul Eid with them as we were busy making the arrangement for their food. We went there with 3 coolers of Jollof Rice, 1 cooler of fried meats and empty 350 take away packs the total inmates were 328 the staff on duty 12 and we served them all. AlhamduliLlaah.

By Allaah the happiness was glaring on their faces as they were hailing us, jubiliating and making du'a. The imam of the inmates told us that since they were there they never experienced this kind of celebration before, because no one do remember them to celebrate with them as we did in sort they all appreciated our efforts and may Allaah accept it from us and them.

We thank Allah for making this possible. We appreciate everyone who believe in the cause too. We ask Allah to aid us to extend to more prisons before/by next Eid.

We hereby plead to the Ummah to join us in this worthy cause by paying a visit to our brothers, purchasing some of the items to take along during the visitation and assist the inmates in our prayer.

UMMAH CARE FOR INMATE FOUNDATION (UCIF) AIDS THE FREEDOM OF AN INMATE IN KIRIKIRI PRISON, LAGOS STATE

REPORT ON THE SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT OF FINE AND RELEASE OF A FEMALE INMATE
Assalam Alaykum Warahmotullahi Wabarakatuh!

In continuation of the process of payment of fine and release of a female inmate of the Kirikiri prison, I went down to the mobile court in Oshodi, Lagos, on Tuesday 25th July at about 1PM. I waited several minutes due to the population of others, to verify the details of the inmate and collect the account details. Thereafter I went down to the bank to make payment and was given a receipt in addition to the teller. By Allah's Qadar (Destiny), the registrar who would issue the clearance/release letter had gone home as at when I got back to the court.
I went back two days later, Thursday 27th with the receipt. A clearance/release letter was then issued, which I took back to the prison.

A brother from UCFI Group 1, Mallam Kamaldeen Lawal (KBL), who had earlier messaged me privately came down from his workplace to hook up with me at the prison (May Allah reward his efforts and ours), and together we went forth to submit the clearance letter. They verified it and she was release maa sha Allah. However , at the point of verifying the release letter of this inmate named Fatima umoru, they warned her not to go back begging on the streets where she was initially arrested. After much inquiries from her, she stated that she was from kano and that she came down to lagos with a trailer conveying cows. She also said she was picked up in Iyana Ipaja but that she stays in Iyana Odo, around Igando area of Lagos state. The prison officials suggested that next time we should try to come with someone who can converse in Hausa.

As requested, we were given a list of those with different amount of fines to work with for such subsequent gestures.
Together with Fatima, we left the prison and made our way down to Oshodi where I put her on a bus to Iyana Ipaja because she said she knows her way to Igando from there..Mallam Kamal gave her a certain amount of money (May Allah replenish his source).
I went twice to Oshodi only, once to Ikeja, once to Kirikiri and once to Oshodi/Kirikiri, all from Ikorodu, total cost of transport and photocopies of documents made was N4300. I'll pay 2300 while the foundation pays 2000 in sha Allah.

May Allah forgive my shortcomings all through and reward the efforts of this foundation and indeed all those who have been persistently contributing and helping out one way or another.

Subhaanaka llahumma wa bi hamdihi ashadu anlaailaha illa anta astagfiruka wa atubu ilayk

May Almighty Allah reward you all, Grant you all goodness and make Jannah our final Abode. May Allah in His infinite mercy assist us all and enrich our pockets Aameen.

The Importance of Charity and Giving in Islam

“Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:245)

The Benefits of Charity
The Almighty promises us that if we train ourselves to give in times of ease and hardship, our sustenance will increase. Giving awakens our souls and triggers genuine concern for the well-being of others. Priority is given to feeding the poor and the needy, as that is one of the best acts in Islam.

Giving from what we are given from The Provider and Owner of everything not only releases us from the disease of want but also reminds us that everything belongs to Allah (swt) and must be used for the well-being of all of humanity.

We will never attain righteousness until we spend what we love, loving for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Protect yourself from hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The personal sacrifice of giving one’s possessions, no matter how small, for the sake of helping those in need is a blessing and means purifying our souls and wealth. From a drop of water to gardens of fruit we must remember that everything in this world is loaned to us for a brief period of time. The true test is the test of giving the given.
“Allah, the Exalted, says, ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” – Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). How will you give today?
