REPORT OF UCIF's DAWAH VISITATION TO KIRIKIRI MAXIMUM PRISON ON THE 11TH FEBRUARY, 2018.

*In the name of Allah ; the Beneficient the Merciful.*

*Ummah Care for the inmates Foundation - مؤسسة الأمة لرعايةالسجناء.*
The arrival of guests and volunteers started at exactly 10:00am despite the downpour in and around Apapa, Lagos State which houses the KiriKiri Maximum Prison facility.

We gained entrance to the main prison facilities around 12:30 noon after conveyance of the cooked food, clothes, bread, daily needs and gift items donated by the Muslim Ummah.

After this, the Visitors from LSDPC Mosque came with Drugs and other healthcare items for the Inmates and they had short and beneficial talk with the Inmates in the KiriKiri Maximum Prison Central Mosque.

Following, Ustadh Salahudeen Ar-Riyady started the lecture session titled 'Trials and its disguised blessings' - he extensively did justice to the topic with both Yoruba and English language after an Hausa Lecturer came to interpret the whole lecture for those who don't understand either English language and Yoruba language.

After the detailed explanation of the meaning of trials and practical representations of various trials that can come as hardship or otherwise, he fervently dabbled into the exegesis of these Qur'an verses:

Do people think that they will be left alone because they say "We Believe" and they will not be tested? ~Quran 29:2

We shall certainly test you, until We ascertain those of you who (sincerely)strive and those who are steadfast (inAllah’s Deen); and We shall test your affairs (to distinguish the liars from the truthful) ~ Quran 47:31

And also, Shaykh clearly discussed the reason and reward for being patient upon trials, he stated that among the trials with which Allaah tests His slaves is in order to distinguishthe believers from the disbelievers is that which He mentions in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient).Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.’They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones”[al-Baqarah 2:155-157]

So Allah tests His slaves, and He loves those who are patient, and gives them the glad tidings of Paradise.

Also, the lecturer stated that during the times of trials inmates should always think positively of Allah and rely fully on Him, in all the situations, for whatever comes from Allah is for good and He is The Protector of the pious and Oft-Forgiving and The Most Merciful. It is said, "Nothing happens except by the will of Allah."

Lastly, Shaykh Ar-Riyady admonished the inmates to remain patients as instructed by Allah in the Qur'an: During trials or affliction Allah advisesHis slaves, "... and be patient over what befalls you." ~ Quran 31:17

It was followed with the performance of Zuhr Prayer after which Question and Answer/Interactive Session continued after Salat, this session lasted from 1:40PM till around 3:00PM - the Inmates asked beneficial question bordering on Tawheed, Fiqh, Seerah, Hadith etc and all their questions were evidence-based answered by the lecturer.

Brother Qamar from MSSMI advised that the Inmates should take in practice all what was taught to them by Shaykh Ar-Riyady and other lecturers and start living in commanding goodness and forbidden sins always.

Abu Soffiyah (KiriKiri Maximum Prison Medical officer) gave a contributory remark and admonished the Inmates never to despair of Allah's mercy always - "Or do you think that you shall enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When will the help of Allah come?" ~ Quran 2:214

During the course of the lecture, Brother Habeeb Ademola Kamaldeen and Abu Ubayy Sherifdeen led the sisters to KiriKiri Female Prison Wing.

During the lecture  by Sheikh Solahudeen,  the duo of Brother Kamal and Abu Ubayy Sherifdeen led the female delegation to the female prison for the Female Wing Dawah Visitation, they  entered the female prison at about 1.20pm after the conveyance the items brought along.

Ustadh Ya'qub of Bond FM welcomed us, and admonished the female Inmates with the hadeeth: "Life is a prison for the believer, while it is paradise for the Unbelievers".
The inmates were told not to feel inferior, they may be better than those outside the prison world, they sinned and they've repented, they're better than those who have not repented.

A sister from  the delegation admonished the inmates on Tawheed, they were told not to despair in the mercy of Allaah, no matter their situation , they shouldn't leave Islam no matter the level of the trial.

Lastly, Brother Musa Amanozi Habeeblah gave the vote of Thanks and the visitation ended around 3:16PM.

May Almighty Allah reward us all with goodness. Aameen.
